Overview of Altai State Medical University (ASMU)
Altai State Medical University (ASMU) is a Russian public university located in Barnaul. It is run by over 60 departments and has seven faculties. Altai State Medical University is located in Barnaul, the capital of Altai Krai, in southeast Russia. Altai State Medical University has been a source of qualified specialists for the regional healthcare system for the past sixty years. Twenty-five thousand doctors and pharmaceutics have graduated from the university and are working in the Altai region, the Republics of Altai and Tuva, and countries both near and far away. AGMU graduates account for 90% of doctors and pharmacists in the Altai region.
It was established in 1954 by the RSFSR Council of Ministers. Until 1994, ASMU was known as the Altai State Medical Institute.
The Russian Federation’s Ministry of Health oversees Altai State Medical University. It is a major center for research, education, and cultural exchange. The university’s international community shares their social heritage and thus adopts each other’s culture. Altai Medical University has graduated over 30,000 students. AGMU has over 4000 students enrolled each year. The majority of students are from the Russian Federation, with approximately 1000 international students.

Eligibility Criteria of Altai State Medical University (ASMU)
- Applicants should be 17 years old at the time of admission.
- Applicants should qualify for the NEET exam.
- Applicants must have 50% aggregate in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
- Applicants must have secured 60% in the main subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
Altai State Medical University Admission Process
To get admission to Altai state medical university, one should follow these steps:
- Step-1: Fill out the application form/admission form with the correct information.
- Step-2: Submit the scanned documents ( scanned copies of 10th and 12th mark sheets, NEET score card, copy of a medical certificate, Copy of your passport )
- Step-3: After 10-15 days of applying and submitting the admission form you get the invitation letter from the university.
- Step-4: When you get the invitation letter, you have to pay application fees through net banking.
- Step-5: Students can apply for a visa in the respective embassy, for 10 days of visa processing.
